At a young age, Rose accepted Jesus Christ as here personal savior. She was a member of Chestnut A.M.E. Zion Church. Educated in the North Carolina School System. Rose attended St. Augustine College in Raleigh, NC where she met her husband the late Elijah J. Jones, who affectionately called her "Brownie." The two fell in love and were married on June 1, 1953. From this union the Lord blessed them with two daughters, Beverly and Cynthia. Rose worked as an Licensed Registered Nurse with the Home Nurse Agency for 20 years. Rose possessed the gifts of healing, mercy, and forgiveness. She enjoyed caring for the sick and the shut-in. She loved the Lord and she ministered to his people through her ability to mend the broken hearted even when her own heart was broken. Rose loved her family and always sacrificed her life so that others might enjoy happiness. Rose loved to pray the Lord's prayer and loved to sing her favorite song, "Blessed Assurance". She was preceded in death by: her sisters, Classie, Kathleen, Selma and Evelyn; her brothers, Robert and Elmer. Rose leaves to cherish her memory, two daughters: Beverly and Cynthia; two son-in-laws, Michael and John. Rose was also a loving grandmother of three, Angel, Elisha and Joi; one grandson, Anthony Jr., and great-grandsons in San Diego, CA., one sister, Velour; one sister-in-law, Ollie and one brother, David (Julia) and a host of nieces, nephews and very special friends. She devoted her life to her family by cooking and baking pound cakes and sweet potatoes pies which brought a smile to everyone's face.
